An extraordinary opportunity to develop nearly an entire city block, The Summit at St. Martin’s features a mix of affordable housing units, including apartments for the very low income and formerly homeless. The building has become a neighborhood center where people of all income levels, races and cultural backgrounds live together.

Respectful of the surrounding urban fabric, the building’s traditional facade reflects the traditional townhouses of the neighborhood and energizes the streetscape with individual porch stoops and door entries – mirroring the entries across the street. The interiors feature quality materials, openness, visibility and natural light, all critical to the wellbeing of residents.  Residents also share common areas such as multi-purpose conference rooms with kitchen, a librarary, exercise room, and a café with lounge.

Crucial to the design process was the 90-year-old convent that was picked up and moved to a more prominent location on the site during construction to accommodate the new development. The convent was completely renovated and modernized into new units and incorporated into the new design.

The building is simply stunning. It reflects the dignity and worth of each of our residents that they are loved and valued.  We have created a loving atmosphere where all of our residents will have great pride in calling home and will work to build a community together that strengthens our city and region – Client and President, Catholic Charities
